Cavitation

Cavitation is a common problem in older trees or trees that have been struck by lightning

When this happens the trees “core lumber” may be compromised. Although the tree still produces leaves and its vascular system is still functioning this can lead to weak unions, weak root structure, or risk for accelerated decay.
